EN 132365/2005 STANDARD FOR GASKETS
European Standard EN 12365/2005 defines the criteria for classifying glazing gaskets according to an alphanumerical code made up of one letter and five numbers.
This string acts as an identity card for the gasket, indicating the fitting and performance specifications.
- Box 1 - “Category of use”
Identifies the type of product, defining with the letter W (Weatherstripping) the family of dynamic seals (such as for example rebate seals and centre seals) and with G (Gasket) the category of static gaskets (such as for example glazing gaskets, slot covers, wall frame isolation or the equivalent)
- Box 2 - “Working range”
Indicates a number that identifies the working range of a gasket or space in mm. within which the gasket works best.
- Box 3 - “Compression force”
Identifies the linear force (N/m) needed to compress the seal to its own working range measurement
- Box 4 - “Working temperature range”
Indicates the minimum and maximum temperature range in which the seal can be used.
- Box 5 - “Deflection recovery”
Indicates the seal's deflection recovery percentage from the work position to the rest position.
- Box 6 - “Recovery after ageing”
Indicates the deflection recovery percentage of the material the seal is made from, after being squashed at maximum working temperature.
The numerical values should be interpreted according to the table below
